RM: Charles, do you remember your first encounter with bodybuilding and what it meant for you?

CD: My first encounter with bodybuilding was right after high school. A trainer at Golds Gym here in my hometown tried to get me to body build and I was like heck no. I thought being that big was not cool and I said girls don t like dudes that big and I had a scholarship to go play football in college. After I finished college, came back to the same Golds Gym  and another trainer came up to me and said I should compete. So out of curiosity, I said I would do it. Needless to say, I got hooked and wanted to be big.

RM: What are your next plans in your competitive career?

10806430_10205657177014432_8695872317147099309_nCD: I found out yesterday that I got the invite to the Arnold Classic so I will compete in it. After that I will pick one show after and hopefully be qualified for the Olympia and have some good prep time. Long term, I want to be competitive for a good lil while.

RM: That is great news! congratulations!

RM: You must have experienced a lot of funny gym stories that has occurred during your years in the gym – do you have any you want to share with us?

CD: One story that stands out is a guy had 12 plates on the leg press and went down like 4 maybe 5 inches and yelled when he pressed up. He said he was going up to 14 plates. I was like you didn’t even go a quarter of the way down.

RM: LOL!

RM: Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?

CD: My parents. They have supported me in everything I have done. They have been such a positive influence to ever since I was a kid.

RM: What advises would you give to the newcomer Charles Dixon to the gym culture?

CD: Work hard, be consistent, be humble, have faith, and believe in yourself.

RM: Charles, it’s time for us to wrap up this interview, if you want to add something or give a shout out please feel free to do so_10402700_10205488882447173_2067596990479455269_n
