Next athlete in line for RM’s IFBB Pro interview series is Eboney Chipman from Canada.

Eboney is in the beginning phases of preparing to compete next year. In addition Rising Muscle decided to exchange a few words about her general career as a bikini competitor, and what her life beyond competing looks like.

Country: Canada
Province: British Columbia
City: Vancouver
Occupation: Inventory control and analyzer at a major supplement store chain.
Age: 33
Height: 5’11
Contest background: Toronto Pro 2013, Vancouver Pro 2015

RM: At what point in time did you make the decision to become a bikini competitor?

EC: The choice wasn’t mine actually. Lol. I was dating someone at the time who said “you should really think about competing” and to me the thought of getting on a stage in front of hundreds of people terrified me. But I listened to him and he trained me for my first show….and it was game on after that. Lol. I placed second at my first show and fell in love with sport of fitness and bodybuilding. Based on judges feedback from that first show I knew I could make it cat if I put my mind to it.

EC: My goal is the big one !!! The 2016 NY pro, then the following week Toronto pro. And I’ll see how those go and base shows after on that. I of course will do Vancouver pro again because it is my home city.

RM: What does an ordinary day in Ebony´s life look like?

EC:I get up EARLY. Lol. I’m up at 530 everyday. I hit the gym for 20-30 min of hiit cardio and then I go to work for 8.5 hours. My job is physical so I’m busy all day everyday. Sometimes I am just so so so tired but I still make it to the gym 4 time a week for  weights. If I’m really tired I of course listen to my body and rest!!! This does happen often. I make rest a priority because when it comes time to prep for a show I need to be at optimal health

When I am in on season I am at the gym 6 days a week though.

RM: What are your passions besides training?

EC: No one knows this but I am very interested in photography !!! I am taking a course in 2016. I don’t want to shoot people though. I have a big interest in nature and dogs. I’m rally excited for this new venture.

RM: Which athlete or athletes are your favorites among the IFBB Pros?

EC: I like so mimage4any different athletes. My number one would have to be Fellow Canadian Justine Munro. She is the true definition of hard work and motivation. She has inspired me for Years. She continues to get better as an athlete. She is very inspiring

RM: Who has been the most influential person in your life so far?

EC:That would have to be my family. It can’t be just one person. I have to give credit where it’s due and mr family has always always had my back and supported me no matter what I am doing in my life. With competing it’s hard to find true supporters who can understand why you do what you do. Family is #1

RM: Ok Ebony, time for the round-up, if there is anyone you want to thank, please feel free to do so:

EC: I want  to thank my family for all of their continued support. My sponsors PharmaFreak and Body Energy Club (www.bodyenergyclub.com) My co workers and especially my bosses at Body Energy Club are amazing people. They have continued to support me and my fitness journey and I forever so so thankful to all of them.

RM: Thank you for taking the time to make this interview with us Eboney – and Best of luck at the NYC-Pro in 2016!
