Mike “The Iron Warrior” Christian sill going strong inside the gym
During the 80’s along with legends like Gary Strydom, Lee Labrada, Rich Gaspari and 8x Mr. Olympia Lee Haney, the name Mike Christian aka “The Iron Warrior” was also of of the prominent athletes out there.
Mike was also one of the household names of the Mecca of bodybuilding, Gold’s Gym in Venice California during it’s hay day. The Iron Warrior was also known to be one of the tougher guys of Gold’s Gym during the Golden era. In other words, a man who never backed down for anything. but still was known to be a friendly, caring and charismatic person. However, before anything else. Mike was known as the popular bodybuilder during his competitive career.
To add to Mike’s resume he has 1st places at the 1988 IFBB Grand Prix US Pro and IFBB World Pro Championships. In addition, also wins at the German Grand Prix, Spanish Grand Prix – as well as the IFBB Grand Prix Spain (II) back in 1989.
However, after Mike’s competitive career was over he vanished from the bodybuilding world. He wasn’t seen in the lime lights at all during the later years of the 90’s and the 00’s due to periods of battling drug addiction.
In the later years Mike have started to be visible in the gyms more often and during expos and pro-shows. In addition to the comeback, Mike was inducted into the Muscle Beach Hall of Fame, a place in the history books he now shares with other famous legends like Danny Padilla, Ed Corney and Robby Robinsson.
In the following pictures Mike has clearly been focusing on the bodybuilding lifestyle again, and displays an amazing physique for any age, but notice that Iron Warrior is 63.
