RM: Kylie – for how many years have y10731094_10201952384410889_4042941213147519968_nou been weight training and what made you want to compete in the figure division and not the other ones?

KS: I have been weight training for just over two years now. I never liked my body. To be honest I constantly felt uncomfortable in my skin my whole life. So I decided to take things into my own hand and get a trainer. Actually with the encouragement of a beautiful woman named Holly I began my journey. She had friends who had competed in bikini and suggested that I give it a try. I began training for a show 6 months out called the Northern in Golden Colorado ran by Jeff Taylor. With the help of my trainer and copious hours of cardio I stepped on stage. I took 3rd in open my first show. I qualified for nationals and could have pursued bikini, but fate told a different story. The whole day backstage I kept watching a figure competitor name Tuffah. I admired her physique so deeply and believe it or not at the end of finals she came up to me and said she thought I would do amazing in figure. Four months later I took my class in the Warrior Classic. I never looked back.

RM: If you could live your life all over again – honestly what would you have done differently?

KS: I would have been more patient with my life. I was always in such a rush to get somewhere or accomplish something that I let a lot o10341513_10200997477698818_8903995770872577211_nf moments fly by. Each and every day of life is an incredible blessing and there are too many days in my life that I have forgotten that.

RM: If you had to do an audition on American Idol – what song would you have chosen to perform with?

NW:   I would definitely sing something from the jazz/blues era. I think that the lustrous and raw vocals of the time and the late night glamour of the fashion of the time make in enduringly sexual. I could see myself on top of the piano belting out one of the oldie but goodies.

RM Whould you like to speak about the last time you competed and it turned out for you:

SA Chanpionships – 5th Place Figure Class DKS: The last time I competed at USAs in July was probably the most motivating show I have ever competed in. It was the lowest placing I have ever taken home in a competition. I was so disappointed at first but eventually it inspired me to start from ground zero and bring a whole new package to the stage.

RM: What is the best thing about competing in figure in your opinion?

NW: I love the challenge. Life can be repetitious, and mundane, and having an active goal keeps one passionate. For me competing gives me somethinimage3g to wake up and be excited for. I also love looking like a figure competitor, I mean, really…

RM: when are you planning to compete again?

NW: I am planning on competing sometime in 2015 but the date has yet to be chosen! I am in a period where I’m trying to figure out my next move and what I really want to come out of my figure career.

RM: Kylie,  it is time for our final words. If you want to thank anyone or add something please feel free to do so

KS:  want to give acknowledgements to the beautiful people who inspire and motivate me: My husband, my brother, sister, mother, My inlaws, my girls, Marge Brodahl, Theresa Rudel, Tamara Sherill, Carole Semple, the NPC competitors of CO, and all of those amazing souls who have blessed my life.
