Fouad Abiad: the Dark Horse of the North

A full out invasion of the Canadian armed forces lead by Queen Elizabeth II and Justin Trudeau themselves is extremely unlikely to happen in the following 14 days but gyjhfghjfhgj Fouad Abiad: the Dark Horse of the Norththere is one Canadian that’s armed to the teeth and ready to fight in the Urban battlefield in Columbus – that Canadian goes by the name Fouad Abiad. That’s right everybody, Fouad is one of 9 elite level IFBB professionals that set their sights on the massive Arnold Classic trophy and he seems to be more focused than ever before, but was it always like that?

Fouad is without a shred of doubt one of the most dedicated athletes on the circuit these days, being one of the very few that can say he maxed out on his genetic potential but when it comes to the big shows even the man himself admitted the nerves got the better of him. He would cheat, skip cardio and wouldn’t train to the limits just to give himself an excuse in case he didn’t place as high as he would have hoped. Fouad definitely wasn’t talking trash, he literally has data to prove his words, placing 12th in 2011, 11th in 2012 and 10th in 2013. In 2011 he was admitedly a few pounds off and not as polished, he got overleaped by people he never should have.

In 2012 he was fighting for a top 6 spot but somehow didn’t realize there was a confirmation round at the finals and decided to go home since he wasn’t specifically called back for the top 6 which made him lose a lot of points and unjustly landed himself in the 11th spot. In 2013 he stayed for the final comparisons but this time he was severely overlooked by the judges and placed a few spots too low, it was also probably the worst Anrold classic in the 6 years that I followed the event. All those years his weak points were his taper, his back width as well as his arm development, but each year Fouad seems to be proving the critics wrong by putting on fresh muscle in places we thought they don’t even exist as well as bringing out fresh detail and getting more consistent with conditioning.

Fast forward to 2017 and we’re seeing a much more mature and much more focused Fouad ready to finally take the Arnold stage after a 4 year absence. Is he going to nail the conditioning and remain uninjured? Is he finally going to break the bad luck he’s having at the contest and be a major threat for top spots? I 100% believe he can because he looks the best I’ve ever seen him this far out and unless his luck or nerves give out, I see no reason for „the Hoss“ not to do some major damage!
