The 2018 Olympia weekend has already started, and tomorrow, and for those not attending, there is an additional live stream available.
Mr. Olympia is the largest bodybuilding & fitness event globally. Many athletes just dream of making it to the big stage at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. For those who have succeeded to qualify, the Super Bowl of Bodybuilding opens its doors tomorrow.
This year’s Olympia is more unique compared to the previous ones.
To begin with, Phil Heath who is the reigning champion since the last 7 years, goes for his 8th title. If he succeeds he will be tied with Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney for the most wins in the history of bodybuilding.
Secondly, this is the 6 time Olympia winner Flex Lewis last 212 Olympia before entering the open division in 2019.
Thirdly, the prize money for the whole event has been raised to $1.36 million.
Lastly, this year the fans at the event will have the chance to vote for their own Mr. Olympia. However, if they choose a different winner than the judges, their choice will be achieved the ‘people’s champion award’.
Summarized, this is Olympia definitely has the potential to go into the history books as one of the more special ones.
