This time on Rising Muscle and Nordic Profile we are making a drop on Iceland for an interview with the succesful bikini fitness competitor Rannveig Hildur Guðmundsdóttir.Modelfitness_GH28465

Age: 24 (14th of February 1990).

Country:  Iceland

City: Reykjavík

Occupation: Graduating this June from the University of Iceland with a BS-degree in Dental Technology.

Height: 164 cm / 5’4 ft

Contest background:

I am an IFBB bikini fitness competitor. I competed for the first time last April 2014. I participated in the Icelandic Championship where I got the gold in my hight division. I got first place and was second place overall Icelandic Champion. I could not have been happier about it! I decided to compete again in November at the Nordic Championship (1st of November) and the Icelandic Cup (15th of November). At the Nordic Championship I placed third and at the Icelandic Cup I took first place and was the overall Icelandic Cup champion as well! It blew my mind winning four trophies in only 8 months, my first year of competing in bikini fitness and for that I could not be more grateful.

RM: Rannveig, do remember your first encounter with gym training and what that experience was like?

RG: I never recall
y knew what to do in the gym. I felt silly lifting weights and did mostly cardio. I signed up for personal training in 2011 with my trainer Jimmy R. Routley. At first it was really difficult, but when I felt the strength that I got and how my body changed I got hooked on the gym. I am a really competitive person and I like to challenge myself to constantly d10269503_733898276664390_5854978828059117117_no better. Today I can’t imagine my life without working out.

RM: Have you been involved in any other sports before you became a bikini athlete?

RG:  I was in classical ballet when I was young till my teens.

RM: What are you future goals as a bikini competitor?

RG: Improving my shape, inspire others to live a healthy lifestyle and always do my best! I cant deny it would be pretty awesome being able to call myself World Champion one day, it just has a great ring to it!

RM: Who has the ideal physique in your opinion ?

RG: My biggest inspiration at the moment are Olga Viazmetinova, Christina Strom Fjærre, Anna Virmajoki and Ashley Kaltwasser, they all have beautiful physiques!

RM: What is the best and the worst thing about doing a contest preparation?

RG: The best thing: I really enjoy working out so much and the overall process. I love having a strict routine, I function best that way.

The worst thing: I have to say that the constant meal prepping can be a bit annoying after a long hard day. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail are words that are so true in this sport. And of co10710884_733898106664407_591104659428312395_n (1)urse all of the chocolate and goodies I have to sacrifice during competition prep!

RM: When will we see you on stage again?

RG: I am really working on improving my shape even more. I am thinking about taking around four to five months preparation this time. Hopefully I will get to participate in the IFBB World Championship in November! And also at the Icelandic Cup that same month. And who knows what else, I am still viewing my options, there are so many exciting competitions!

RM: Ok Rannveig, It’s time for the last words, please feel free to thank someone or maybe add something else:
